K.R. Mangalam University successfully hosted Aarambh 2025 – Freshman Orientation Programme, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey for its newest batch of students. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of thousands of freshers, proud parents, faculty, and the entire KRMU community, making it a memorable and impactful start to the new academic year. The highlight of the programme was the presence of Mr. Aman Gupta, CMO & Co-Founder of boAt, a trailblazer in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. His inspiring keynote addressed themes of perseverance, creativity, and innovation. With anecdotes from his own journey of building one of India’s leading consumer electronics brands, he motivated students to think fearlessly, nurture ideas, and contribute to shaping the future. The Aarambh 2025 Orientation Programme set a strong foundation for the new academic year by instilling motivation, excitement, and a sense of belonging among students.

NSS conducted a cleanliness drive at Government Senior Secondary School, Ghanghola, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. This initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and hygiene in the local community, reinforcing the importance of a clean environment. During the drive, volunteers collected waste, swept the grounds, and cleared debris, enhancing the school’s environment. Participants expressed heightened awareness about environmental issues, and the school premises were visibly cleaner and more welcoming. The cleanliness drive under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign proved to be a fruitful initiative, instilling the values of cleanliness and environmental stewardship among the youth.

The Environment Club & Youth Red Cross Committee in Collaboration with the Rotary Club New Gurgaon organised a Declamation contest on drug abuse to create awareness about the harmful, lethal and life-spoiling effects of Drugs on the young generation in colleges and universities today.

The Economics Society, K.R. Mangalam University launched its journey with the inaugural session “EconVision 2025: Reimagining Economics.” The event, led by Prof. Renu Verma, Convener, introduced the Society’s mission to nurture economically aware and socially responsible individuals through critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and experiential engagement. Students were briefed on upcoming initiatives like seminars, policy discussions, and research activities, along with opportunities for networking, skill development, leadership, and career guidance. A key highlight was the emphasis on student-led involvement, sparking great enthusiasm among attendees.

The School of Agricultural Sciences organised an educational visit to the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, to provide students with hands-on learning and exposure to advanced agricultural technologies. The event began with a lecture by Dr. Girijesh Mahra, Assistant Professor, Division of Extension Education, IARI, who discussed India’s agricultural development, the Green Revolution, and the contributions of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan and Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, while engaging students with real-life examples.
Students then visited the Indo-Israel Project at IARI, learning about protected cultivation, precision irrigation, and modern crop production techniques. Dr. Anjali Tomar and Ambika Bhandari, Assistant Professors at SOAS, KRMU, guided the visit and explained key practical applications.
Overall, the visit provided students with valuable insights into modern agricultural advancements, research practices, and the integration of classroom learning with field experience.

The Department of Forensic Science, SBAS, successfully organised FUSE 1.0 (Forensic Understanding and Scientific Exploration). The two-day event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by activities such as a treasure hunt and poster-making competition on Day One. Day Two featured a quiz competition, cultural performances, and an expert session by Dr. Suminder Kaur, Assistant Director of the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Delhi, where she shared her experiences in forensic DNA casework. The event concluded with a valedictory session, where Dr. Suminder Kaur awarded prizes to competition winners.

The MUN Club hosted an event titled “Speak Up: Extempore Speech on Global Issues.” Students delivered impromptu speeches on topics like climate change, human rights, and global conflicts. The event focused on enhancing public speaking and critical thinking. Participants were evaluated on content, confidence, and delivery. The event successfully encouraged students to engage with pressing global issues.

School of Humanities organised an expert session on “Ethical Foundations: Empowering Teachers through Professional Integrity Training.” The event sought to enhance educators’ comprehension of the ethical dimensions essential to teaching and learning. The session featured esteemed Prof. (Dr.) Mehraj Uddin Mir, Chair Professor at Motilal Nehru Chair, whose insights drawn from over four decades of experience, greatly enriched the discussion. His expertise provided invaluable perspectives on the importance of ethical conduct in an educational environment.

The Chetna Society organised an insightful session titled “The Dangers of Self-Medication: Understanding its Effects on Health and Consciousness.” The event attracted a diverse audience of students eager to learn about the risks and consequences of self-medication. The interactive session allowed participants to ask questions and engage in a meaningful dialogue, promoting awareness of safer healthcare practices.

The School of Architecture and Design organised an expert session in collaboration with AI House India. AI House, a Hong Kong-based software company, recently expanded its operations in India. The session was led by Mr. Manjit Gogoi, Director of AI House India, along with Ar. Arup Sarkar, an architectural designer. They introduced students to 3D design and rendering techniques using their software, with Ar. Arup conducting a live demonstration. The session provided valuable learning insights to the students.

The Sultanpur Lake Forest (Sultanpur National Park) was visited by students of K.R. Mangalam University from the School of Agricultural Sciences as part of the activity “Collection of Diversified Insect Species from Sultanpur Lake Forest.” The activity was a significant and impactful manoeuvre as the students developed a stronger comprehension of how to locate, examine, and collect insects. Numerous pollinators were successfully captured and collected by the students after they searched for them on the flowers. Students searched for the pest and its habitat. There was a sense of awe in witnessing all these small insects that have a significant impact on the globe and our entire ecosystem, in addition to learning about their ecology.

Centre of Excellence-AI at the School of Engineering and Technology hosted Geekathon 2024, a hackathon in collaboration with GEEKROOMS. The event featured mentor sessions, fun activities, tech quizzes, and much more. The top three teams received cash prizes. The event brought together bright minds from diverse disciplines to tackle real-world challenges through creative coding and innovative technology. During this intense, day-long event, participants worked in teams to brainstorm, code, and present their cutting-edge projects.

The School of Architecture & Design recently hosted an inspiring guest lecture titled “Ideating Museums Designing for Narrative Expressions,” enriching our students under the Analyse, Dialogue, Design & Architecture (ADDA@SOAD) series. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Saurabh Sharma, the visionary founder and CEO of Soku Design Corporation. His remarkable presence and profound insights left a lasting impression on our students, providing them with a rare opportunity to learn from a leader who has transformed his passion into a thriving enterprise.

International Relations hosted a campus visit and guest lecture by the University of Leeds, UK (Ranked 89th in QS Rankings). The meeting sterned in-depth conversations on areas of mutual interest and collaborative initiatives for a formal agreement with the University of Leeds, UK. The guest lecture on “Preventing Plagiarism Pedagogically: What Do Teachers Need to Know?”, led by Dr. Diane Pecorari from the University of Leeds, saw an engaging turnout with faculties and selected students in attendance. The session offered in-depth insights into preventing plagiarism through pedagogical methods, emphasizing the role of educators and students in promoting academic integrity.

NSS Unit celebrated Hindi Diwas at Government Girls School, Abheypur. The event aimed to promote Hindi and highlight its cultural significance, encouraging students to take pride in their national language and understand its historical importance. The event emphasised the need to preserve and promote Hindi, especially among the youth. Prizes were distributed to competition winners, and the school principal expressed gratitude to participants, NSS volunteers, and the organising team. Overall, the Hindi Diwas celebration was a great success, with students actively participating and demonstrating their love for the language, fostering pride in their national identity.

School of Architecture and Design organised a lecture by Navdeep Sindhu on “Game Design and Development” to abrust students about the latest trends in the gaming industry and a quick start guide for our students. During this session, students learned about software used in game making and the importance of computer programming language.

School of Journalism & Mass Communication organised an engaging workshop with RJ Naved, who shared insights on radio, podcasts, and digital platforms. From the art of pranks to the power of podcasts, students were all ears as he spilt the secrets of ruling both radio and the digital world.

The School of Engineering and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Suviksan Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This collaboration will open new avenues for research projects and provide valuable internship opportunities to students, by working under the mentorship of industry experts. The objective of the MoU is to bridge the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with practical skills and real-world experience in cutting-edge technology domains.

NSS organised a Nukkad Natak (street play) on the theme “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” at Lakhuwas village as part of Mission Poshan 2.0. The event aimed to raise awareness among the community about the importance of proper nutrition (Poshan) and education (Padhai) for children’s holistic development. The Nukkad Natak commenced with a gathering of volunteers and villagers at the crossroads of the village. The NSS volunteers enthusiastically performed the street play, which highlighted several key messages such as the importance of providing children with nutritious food to support their physical and mental growth, the role of education in shaping the future of children and empowering them to contribute positively to society, and practical steps for parents to ensure that children receive both proper nutrition and education. Information about government initiatives such as the Mid-Day Meal Scheme and Mission Poshan 2.0 was also shared to encourage parents to take advantage of these programs. The performance was interactive, involving the children and women of the village through the play that addressed common myths and misconceptions regarding child nutrition and schooling.

Mangalam University has officially partnered with George Mason University, Virginia, USA, a prestigious institution with a legacy of two Nobel laureates in Economics, paving the way for innovative academic collaborations and joint initiatives. This partnership exemplifies KRMU’s dedication to enhancing our global outlook and enriching student experiences with diverse learning opportunities.

The Gender Sensitisation Committee (GSC) organised a Professional Development Workshop. The speakers of the event were Mr. Nihal Dubey and MS. Saniya Azim Youth Well-Being Experts and Counselling Psychologists. The Chairperson of the GSC, Dr. Shobhna Jeet, also joined the event. The main purpose of this event was to highlight the importance of hygiene and the role it plays in a professional setting. Ms. Saniya as well as Mr. Nihal emphasised how stress affects our mind, body, and skin. They discussed the importance of mental health through some exercises to check the presence of mind. Through this, the attendees gained a deep understanding of personal care of health and hygiene. The committee initiated this session and distributed goodies to 1050 boys and 540 girls on the campus.

Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development Goals in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), study titled “Media Literacy: Fostering a Cognitive-Emotional Approach.” The event featured esteemed chief guests Dr. Richa Bansal, National Project Officer at UNESCO MGIEP, and Mr. Hritik, Associate National Project Officer at UNESCO MGIEP. Participants actively engaged in dialogues, sharing insights and strategies to enhance media literacy through a cognitive-emotional framework.

Students of B.Arch programme undertook an educational visit to the brick kiln located in Kherli Dausa, Haryana. The primary objective of this trip was to gain firsthand knowledge of the brick manufacturing process and the classification of bricks into different grades. The visit provided students with valuable insights into the practical aspects of brick production. The kiln staff demonstrated each stage of the process, from the preparation of raw materials to the final classification of bricks, enriching their understanding of the subject. The experience was highly beneficial for the students, enhancing their theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of construction materials.

Investment Club organised an insightful workshop titled “Risk Reapers – Online Derivative Trading” aimed at educating students about the complexities and strategies involved in online derivative trading. The interactive nature of the session allowed students to engage directly with the content, with many asking questions and participating in discussions. A live demonstration of an online trading platform was given to the students to explore the concepts practically.
